I had to share this story with you guys. Remember my previous post that was all gushy about how much I love Zane and how he has the biggest heart out of everyone that I know? Well this story will prove it. I went and visited Zane at work today and there was a thank you card from a girl named Chelsea, me being nosy read the card and asked about it. Well Zane had recieved an e-mail from Chelsea saying that her husband Nick was diagnosed with a disease (please forgive me, I don't remember the disease). Nick is a HUGE Texas Tech fan and was unable to make it most of the home games this season due to his disease. Well Chelsea asked Zane if he could make a Jersey with 'Nick' on the back. Zane made it happen. What makes the story even better is that I know Nick's family. I went to high school with Andrea who is Nick's sister. So I e-mailed Andrea to let her know that Zane was my husband and that we were praying and thinking about her and her family. She responded and my heart was filled with Joy when I read her message:
Erica, Oh my gosh!!! I cannot believe that Zane is your husband! First of all, thank you so much for your sweet message! Secondly, thanks to Zane for sending the jersey!!! Chelsea and I have been so excited to receive it, and when she got it the other day in the mail, you would have thought we won the lottery!!! We are so excited and CANT wait to see Nick's reaction when he opens it on Christmas morning!! Thank you, Thank you!!
I think Chelsea is going to wrap the jersey in a box and let him open it, so he can hold it and touch it :) and then she is going to have it framed for him! What a cool gift - I'm pretty sure Nick is the biggest Tech fan, and with everything that has come about, he had to miss a bunch of games this year, but Christmas will definitely make up for some of the loss!
Thanks again for sending me that message, I'm so glad you did! Tell your husband we appreciate him more that he knows! Thanks again, Erica!
Love, Andrea
