Deuce Deuce

This post is LOOOOOONG overdue! We are expecting Baby Perry #2 in August! We are calling this baby Deuce Deuce because the pregnancy last August we were calling it Deuce. I will be 18 weeks on Monday and we will find out what we are having on April 14th. I have no gut feelings about this one! With Presley I just knew it was a girl. We are anxious to know so I can start shopping!

Erica's Lovely Lashes

Soooo it's been a while my blog friends. I am sorry for that! Since September we have been busy with Football. Not the best season. But that's ok!

Back in October a friend of mine invited me to a Facebook Party online for Mascara. And you all know, I love me some Mascara! I've tried them all, most of the time I use a couple of different brands at once. So I attended the party...a 10 day party. Decided on day 7...why the heck not...I'll try it. Got it a week later and was IN LOVE. Younique 3D Fiber Lash Mascara. On the Left is the 3D and the right is my trusty Loreal.

I decided I HAD to host my own party and share it with all of my girlfriends. Everyone needed to know about this magic mascara! I earned free and half price makeup from my party, which was so exciting! The presenter that I hosted for asked me if I had thought about selling it. What? No...I did Mary Kay, I did Scentsy and I don't think I can do it again. She told me to just listen in on a call and learn more. So I did. Turns out I LOVED the company and what it stands for, the compensation plan and working when I want. So different than anything else i've ever done.

I am now the newest Presenter with Younique. I got my first promotion within the first Month of joining and it has been a HUGE blessing ever since. Plus, the mascara is AMAZING, among other fantastic natural products. If you are on the hunt for new mascara, makeup or skin care check out my website www.ericaslovelylashes.com and a big, giant, huge thank you to all that have supported me so far. I can't wait to see where this journey takes me!

Blighted Ovum

Blighted Ovum...It was foreign language to me a little over a week ago. It occurs when a fertilized egg implants in the uterus but doesn't develop into an embryo.

This picture was taken on August 6th and I immediately said "Thank you lord" out loud. That day I went in for blood work and initial paper work. Zane and I were both over the moon happy but it felt different this time.  The next day the nurse called me back with results and my numbers were low, but it was very early. She said come back next week and we will check again. The next week I had low progesterone so they put me on progesterone pills. I ended up doing blood work a total of six times in 4 short weeks with numbers that never were normal.

Last week we went in for the 8 week sonogram. I was VERY, very anxious that day. As they were doing the sonogram I knew what to look for since we still have all of Presley's printed sonogram pictures. There was nothing in the gestational sac. Not even a little spec. My doctor was concerned that maybe I was not as far along as I thought, "maybe you are 6 weeks along, it looks like a beautiful sac for someone that didn't know when their last cycle was and just walked in off of the street". But I knew that I was not off by 2 weeks, it didn't make sense in my head. So they doubled up my progesterone just in case there was a baby and sent us on our way.

This last week of waiting, wondering and worry was miserable. We had plenty of time to think, grieve and be at peace with it. I knew in my heart that there was no baby. We went back for another sonogram and confirmed that there was nothing and were diagnosed with Blighted Ovum. No April 2015 baby. They gave me an option of either waiting it out and miscarrying naturally or doing a d&c procedure to remove the tissue and sac. I was very torn and decided to do the d&c. It went well and I am home resting comfortably, a little sore and some bleeding but that's it.

This situation has made me so thankful to have such an easy and non-eventful pregnancy with Presley. It just wasn't our time and I know god has a different plan. We have to wait 3 months to try again and even then we may not be ready. For now i'm going to love on Pres! I have had an amazing support group through all of this- thank you to everyone that has checked on us and offered to help!

Destin

Back in July we took a family vacation to Destin, Florida. Zane and I have gone on two other trips to visit Destin and decided we should do it again this summer. At first we planned on just Zane and I going but we decided to bring Presley along and I am so glad we did! She had a blast! We are lucky enough to have friends that live in Pensacola so we were able to see them a few times, enjoy great seafood and amazing beaches. Here are a few pictures from our trip. We just love Destin!

First Annual Crew Trip

Back in college we had a great group of friends and we called ourselves "The Crew". We are all over Texas now and life just gets in the way of being able to see each other. In the past we have been doing a Pub Crawl for Cancer and it was brought up that maybe we should change it this year and do a trip instead. Come February I volunteered to take over the planning and i'm so glad I did because it kept me busy! We talked about going to the beach or a lake house but decided we should float the river and get a house on the water. So here are some pictures of 15 of our college friends having a 3-day weekend in New Braunfels, Texas. We had a blast!

While we were in New Braunfels Grandma Keke, Aunt Robin, Uncle Tommy and Perry Grace held "Camp Aunt Rob" and watched Presley for us. They had a blast and Aunt Robin had so many fun activities for them like tie dye shirts and finger art. We are so grateful for them!

Cody Tyler

Tony, Cody and Britney
On Thursday May 1st (a day before my birthday!) my nephew Cody Tyler was born! My brother Tony and his girlfriend Britney were induced and after dilating to a 10 and pushing twice they decided to do a C-Section. Cody's heart rate was dropping with each push. Thank god they did because his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck and body in a knot. His middle name is after my late brother Tyler, Tony's twin brother. After the last 15 months we are thrilled to have a happy occasion!

I am so grateful I had the opportunity to be there that day. He is perfect 8 lbs 2 oz 21 inches, born at 6:32pm and for those that know Tony he is red-headed, Cody is red-headed too! Being an Aunt is so fun! I now have a beautiful niece, Perry Grace and handsome nephew Cody. I'm in love!

I love you Zane, thank you for loving me!

New normal

It has been over a month and I find myself having harder and harder days now than I did when Mom first passed away. My day-to-day duties and schedule has not changed but I keep thinking about every one else and how theirs have changed. My Dad and his new life without his wife of 32 years, it breaks my heart. My brother who is about to have a baby boy and not experience the guidance, joy and love of Mom as Sassy. My Grammy who is now going through chemo and surgeries as her daughter, my Mom just did. My Aunt Linda who selflessly gave up her personal time to take care of and help my Mom almost every day for over a year.

I can't even put into words the way I feel and how much it hurts. We are all grieving and in different ways, with no right or wrong way or time frame. We are all just trying to find a new normal.

Easter

We went back to Southlake for Easter. It was the first holiday without Mom and I felt like we needed to be there for my Dad. We went to a Rangers game, dyed and hunted eggs, went to church where I grew up and ate at Esparza's (Mom's favorite)! I am so glad we were able to go! Lots of good family time and yummy food.

Mom

I don't have the words...but I have to tell you my Mom went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 12th. I like to think she is with my brother, Tyler. I will start and finish a post about her someday. She was a fighter, she battled Cancer for 42 years and never gave up hope.

We have had many people ask about donations and we have been directing them to hopeforsandy.blogspot.com.

Thank you all for the outpouring of love and support for me and my family. We are so grateful!

Presley's 3rd Birthday Party

Presley will be 3 on Tuesday! 3!!!!! We had her birthday party this weekend at a local ice cream shoppe that has a 50's theme. It was perfect to host a few friends and family. Unfortunately, none of my family could make it, more on that in a different post. We are so grateful to those that came to celebrate with us!
