Well, the surgery is over! The surgeon said that it went really well. They were able to remove both cancerous tumors fully. It was a major, major surgery that took almost 5 hours. They ended up taking out her entire duodenum plus parts of her stomach, pancreas and liver to make sure the cancer had not spread. Plus the rest of her colon and some rectum. It was two surgeries in one. It hasn't even been 72 hours since her surgery and she has already walked down the hall and back a few times a day and they have fed her clear liquids. A major milestone! I'm telling you my mom is one tough cookie!
But the hard part is her recovery. She will be in the hospital 8-10 days. Please keep praying for no internal bleeding, that her organs work properly without the duodenum and that the cancer has not spread. I fully believe that the power of prayer has helped my mom so to all of my prayer warriors out there THANK YOU!!
